Se trata de un recinto fortificado cuya edifica ción data del siglo XIV a instancias del Rey Jaume II para que la población de la región se pudiera establecer en él especialmente durante las épocas en que eran más frecuentes los ataques piratas.

Eigentlich handelt es sich beim „Castell de Capdepera“ um eine befestigte Anlage, welche im 14. Jahrhundert im Auftrag des Königs Jaume II (Jakob II.) für die Bevölkerung der Gegend errichtet wurde, die sich dort insbesondere während derZeiten häufiger Piratenangriffe geschützt niederlassen sollte.
